Albania is Albania and Italy is Italy and yet the cultures are so similar that it feels like home. Even beyond the cultural closeness is the spiritual connection I am developing with over one hundred precious Campus Crusade for Christ missionaries who are dedicated to presenting the Gospel in this very complicated culture. Historians love to ask, “What is an Albanian?” and are quick to answer, “It depends on who you ask.” But should you ask me the question, “What is God doing in Albania?” I am pleased to answer, “He is doing great and mighty things.” Whether they are a Greco-Roman people influenced by the Ottoman Turks or an Albanian people unique in themselves, I will leave to the historians. Whether they are still greatly influenced by the communist regime that collapsed in 1990 or will become a successful member of the European Union remains to be seen. However, the fact that God is allowing me the privilege of helping equip these Albanian missionaries to be world-changers is beyond what this Canadian-born, American-trained Italian could have ever imagined.
Thanks for praying for Albania…
Thank you Dr. Cecy for visiting Albania and sharing with us what God has laid on your heart. We are at war but the good part is that we can win the war and we are on the winner side. We need to be reminded of this daily and go fight the good fight with God’s armour. God is doing great things among us here in Albania, let us be faithful and pray more that the Spirit will continue to soften hearts and bring people in His kingdom.
Thank you, Dr Cecy, for the time you invested in Albania in order to better equip our staff! We are very grateful! From the Campus Crusade for Christ, Albania & Kosovo staff
