“We want more food.” And God gave them manna in the morning. “We want more more meat.” And God gave them quail at night. “We want more fresh water.” And God gave them fresh water. It seems hard to understand how the people of Israel so easily forgot the power of God they had just witnessed in the Exodus. But then I think about us. Surrounded by evidence of His almighty deeds, and we, too, grumble. “We want more this! We want more that!” Being dissatisfied seems to be epidemic among too many in our midst. But not always…
Here I sit looking at my suitcases stacked by the door of the Precept Ministries Retreat Center.. Leaving these precious Romanian pastors and church leaders saddens my heart. They serve with so little salary and even less appreciation by most of their churches. Unlike some other pastors’ conferences I’ve done, not one pastor whined. Not one leader’s wife complained. They were just grateful to be able to come to this beautiful place and study such an important and often neglected subject — “Winning the Purity War.” Because of the generosity of so many of you, I was able to not only travel here but pay for half the cost of the entire retreat for all the leaders, including their families. It was truly a blessing to them…and to me. Thank you.
